Olivier Rousteing has recently debuted his first men's collection for the French fashion house Balmain along with a couple of looks from the women's resort collection. Soon after, Balmain published the images of the women's resort collection in social media platforms and now we have a partial look on it with a promise to know the entire desired collection during the couture week in Paris.
The resort collection preserves but refreshes the soul of Balmain through cord macrame styles familiar to us from his Fall 2014 collection. As always, the designer showcases the style of strong and sexy women, this time as explorers and travelers. The resort collection is entirely in neutral-tones (earth colors) with a hint of coral in forms of massive necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
Braided fabric is a newbie in Balmain's collection: a head to toe look in beige braid with a wide belt should become the most popular look of the season.
CORD MACRAME DRESSES
We remember cord macrame from the last Balmain collection and we still love it. That's why it is back in forms of long see-through dresses or short dresses with highlighted waist and massive shoulders.
ROMANTIC RUFFLES
Ruffles - the most unexpected detail of the collection, seem to create romantic look when featured on a floor-length dress or a skirt, while it looks extravagant on palazzo pants paired with a solid top.

HUGE BELTS
Whether leather or suede, a massive belt remains a key part of Balmain's collection emphasizing the most feminine body part and giving a power to any feminine look.
NOMADIC AESTETIC
Not only the palette of sandy tones speaks about the nomadic style, but also the loose jumpsuits and dresses with crossed macrame in place of zippers and buttons.
MASSIVE JEWELLERY
If not a massive belt, but there must be an eye-catching accessory in Balmain's looks. This time these are enormous jewellery in the form of corals.
And don't forget that the strappy sandals play a crucial role in creating desert-inspired looks.
Balmain’s resort 2016 campaign was directed by Pascal Dangin featuring models Ysaunny Brito and Julia Van Os, who
posed for photographer AJ Numan. It is expected that Balmain will work
closely with celebrities to feature the collections items on the red
carpet.
