Clarisonic Skin System MIA 2 with Charger, Sensitive Brush Head, Sample Size Cleanser and Travel Case

What is the truth? Does it worth to buy Clarisonic products? Is this a good investment to enhance skin quality or it's just a waste of money? Does Clarisonic device really work? Sure, I'm not the only person asking these and many more questions before spending not a small amount of money (over $150) on a skin cleansing brush.

Who else than honest Clarisonic users can answer to these questions? And there are plenty of reviews over the web that discuss both pros and cons of the product. I have spent much time reading the reviews and here I want to summarize and share my findings for you to reduce your research time.

WHAT IS CLARISONIC AND WHAT DOES IT DO?

First, let's get some background information about the Clarisonic itself before jumping into the discussion of pros and cons. Clarisonic is an American brand producing advanced and clinically proven skin care products and devices. Over the years, the Clarisonic has offered 12 different devices.

Clarisonic devices work by moving the brush at the speed of around 300 movements per second, which allows creating special tension between the inner and outer bristles of the brush that itself separates the oil and dirt away from the skin.

SONIC CLEANSING DEVICES

Basically, Clarisonic devices differ in terms of speed settings, while brushes are designed differently for gentle or deeper cleaning. The Clarisonic MIA 1 is a basic brush, which is the cheapest product offered by the brand (approximately $100). This brush has a single speed level and is good start to sonic cleansing. The other brushes - MIA 2 , Aria or Smart Profile are more advanced models in terms of movement speed settings.

4. ONGOING EFFICIENCY OVER YEARS

"I have been using the Mia2 for over 3 years now and it's still going strong! This is definitely one of my must haves" - GlitternGuns on Sephora.

"For the past couple of years, without fail, my 40-something crazy hormones have reared up and given me some nice breakouts somewhere on my face... I thought I'd tried everything. Facials, diet changes, special peels, you name it. Since using Clarisonic, I kid you not--no eruptions on my face." - kjd on Sephora.

NEGATIVE REVIEWS

1. IT FEELS AGGRESSIVE ON MY SKIN

" I had to switch to the delicate brush head because the sensitive brush was still to aggressive on my skin. The sensitive brush head made me breakout around my mouth lines... Switching to the delicate brush head changed my life" - Adri688 on Sephora.

"For three days, my skin felt great after use. From the fourth day through when I stopped using it, my face looked horrible. Pimples everywhere, even where I never get pimples. I don't understand why, but it just ruined my skin." - Melissa on ULTA BEAUTY.

"I used this for an entire month religiously and even tried to do it slowly so my skin can get used to it. Even on my third week, I was constantly having NEW pimples that were the size of a mountain, deep under my skin, and red as hades" - kristle93 on Sephora.

2. IT IS NOT EFFICIENT

"...there was only a slight reduction in the milia close to my mouth. Texture remained unchanged. I didn't notice any reduction in blackheads, which was my main motivation for purchasing this. :( There is a softness to your skin after you finish, but it may be due to the blood rushing to my face." - Ianihime on MakeUp Alley.

"I used a Clarisonic to try to help with acne. It did nothing, but it made my skin feel super clean so I kept using it" - Maureen on Youtube.

"I owned a Clarisonic for over a year before throwing it into the trash. So yes, I definitely had enough time to decide if I truly love or hate this product...  I honestly believe the Clarisonic is responsible for a lot of the broken capillaries that arrived on my pizzaface back in 2011. - MUAsAlbino on MakeUp Alley.

"I used it every other day or two or three days. It would leave the surface of my face clean from the make up, but it irritated my face and sometimes it would get red and it never seemed to make things better. It didn't work for me." - Mari on ULTA BEAUTY.

3. CAUSES BREAKOUTS

"It broke me out so badly, even when I switched to the delicate brush" - bbyee on Sephora.

"This over stimulated my skin cause the worse breakouts from whiteheads worse cystic pimples and under the skin bumps that did not clear up after 4 months. In addition my skin become red flaky peeling cheek red and raw." - luusk1125 on MakeUp Valley.

" I never had sensitive or acne prone skin until using this machine. At first it was wonderful my skin had never felt so smooth a week or so later my skin started breaking out EVERYWHERE even places it never had before." - A on ULTA BEAUTY.

4. PROBLEMS WITH CHARGER/BATTERY

"...it even says its charged but when I unplug it it says it needs to be charged" - Drylip on Sephora.

"My last one died right after warranty expired. I think it should have lasted longer" -  jeanne ULTA BEAUTY

"I got the Aria in 2013 and have used it quite a few times. However, by the end of 2014, the Aria no longer held a charge and was completely useless. So very disappointed!" - foxcrane on Skinstore.

"My mia3 started to loose battery power after only 2 years, which unfortunately seems to be quite a common issue with clarisonic products" - jemjs on Sephora.

5. HARD TO CLEAN

"I remove the brush head daily because other users have said that their Clarisonic got moldy. It's because the water would get trapped behind the brush head" - Melissa on ULTA BEAUTY
