Fashion designers offered five new trends at Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015-2016. Follow these trends to get an It girl status in the fashion world.
The fashion world is entirely flat out with the events and fashion shows rolling out in Paris, which is a current host city of the fashion week followed by Milan. Before jumping up to discuss the trends offered in Parisian shows and by street style guests, let's summarize and draw conclusive lines of fashion trends for 2015-2016 fall/winter offered in Milan.
Fendi, Prada, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo and more presented their collections for the fall/winter 2015-2016 in Italian fashion haven Milan. Each designer house had unique collections to offer, but there were common patterns screaming that unified several trends adopted by most of them. Just a careful look and you will notice that global labels opted for certain designs and this is exactly what will be trendy in 2015-2016.
I have carefully selected five trends for 2015-2016 fall/winter season, that derive from the fashion shows held in Milan. Own at least one item from described below and you'll be super-trendy fashion guru!
Forget about the classic symmetric design of clothing - one side of a skirt or jacket should not be necessarily of the same length or width as the other side. THE NEW TREND IS THE ASYMMETRY, that was offered by Antonio Marras, Costume National, Gabriele Colangelo, DSquared, Versace and many other designers. To follow this stream, just make one side of a skirt shorter and you'll be exclusively trendy!
2. GEOMETRICAL SYMBOLS
Geometrical lines, swirling patterns, vertical and horizontal panels, black and white prints and stripes - this is an unquestionable trend of 2015-2016. And all geo is in punchy colour play, overlapping each other and covering clothing starting from jazzy pants to midi-length dresses, skirts and coats. The leading designers offering this trend are Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta. Versace, Tod's, An Jour Le Jour, Emilio Pucci, Jil Sander.
3. LAYERED SKIRT
We are used to layer shirts, cardigans and jackets, but never thought of layering skirts. And, yes, this is a new way of wearing skirts - skirt over skirt, skirt over dress and plus asymmetry. Overall, skirts are the top trend of the season, but they should be served with a hint of creativity. Outsized pockets will be another extra feature for a layered skirt as well. This trend allows to experiment and use unconstrained fantasy in figuring out how to bring to life the old skirts hidden in the wardrobe by using the layering advantage. Have a look at the collections of Fendi, Fausto Puglisi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, Iceberg for more inspiration.
4. SKIRTS OVER THE PANTS - SKOUSERS
British Vogue called this trend SKOUSERS, which is descriptive enough to express the meaning. Again skirts are used to create another fashion idea - this time skirts are partnered with pants. The shock is that any skirt length can be used to be layered starting from short skirts to midi skirts. Giorgio Armani, Gabriele Colangelo, Piazza Sempione, No.21, Jil Sander, Marni are those who tested this trend on runway in Milan.
5. PATTERN AND COLOUR MIX
This year runway is flooded with the most experimental designs and colours. The most eye-catching is the mix of unbelievable patterns, textiles and colours - jackets with different arm colours by Fausto Puglisi, silk partnered with knit by Marco de Vincenzo, plaid suit with grey and black surface by Prada, Versace patterns in full colour palette and more.
