"Once upon a time there were beautiful fairy ladies in astonishingly white gowns walking gorgeously and smiling amazingly having a huge magical clock in the background that counted down the minutes of the lifetime expected moment".
This fairy tail theme hung alive in the air during the bridal show 2016 of the Spanish bridal house Pronovias. The show was held in the brands' origin city Barcelona, Spain and announced the closing of the Barcelona Fashion Week. Over 2,000 guests - mostly specialty retailers, established customers and Spanish celebrities - were invited to two-days preview of Pronovias 2016 collections. Among beautiful fairies there were supermodel Irina Sheyk, who announced the start of the show.
Pronovias wedding gowns varies in shapes and design from mermaid silhouettes to A-line full-skirted dresses. The major theme of the collection was the well-fitted dresses in gentle embroidered laces over skin-colour tulle and impressively long and wide veils.
During the events held after the show, the managing director and vice president of Pronovias, Andres Tejero Sala, said: “We are in the process of making a big change. We want to go from world leader to leader in every country in the world with a specific strategy per market. There is a huge difference in countries where we have a presence. It’s crucial to focus on each country with a specific approach — and it requires a big effort".
While the atmosphere of the show was unforgettable for the guests, we are impressed with the images of the collection itself.
Mikado material (the dress below) has been a recent addition to the design of Pronovias that proves the nature of the brand to move towards new designs and evolving materials.
