Fashion is art and art sometimes can be strange, mind-blowing or even insane. American designer Rick Owens, known for eccentric, sometimes shocking presentations, this time presented a collection which pushes every known boundaries between fashion and fashion-surrealism.

Owens stunned the public with a new collection where models wear 'flesh-and-blood accessories' , carrying each other as human backpacks. The New York Times called this 'Human knapsacks' .

At first, this collection seems insane, surreal, for some maybe absurd but according to critics this collection was 'moving' and 'impressive'. Why? Because there was a very important message behind this. According to Vogue it was a tribute to female strength and particularly to physical labors of pregnancy. Owens' message is clear: All Women are strong. Even the ones who don't know it yet.

According to Owens: “I see [my vision for the collection] being more about nourishment, sisterhood/motherhood … Women raising women, women becoming women, and women supporting women. Straps can be about restraint, but here they are all about support and cradling. Straps here become loving ribbons.”

This is Owens' not the first collection to be provocative and astonishing. In January he sent four of his models down the runway wearing clothes with peepholes that showed full-frontal male nudity underneath.
