The sad news about the death of the legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has shocked the world. The much-loved creator of amazing evening gowns has died at the age of 82 after fighting a cancer for a decade.

Born in the Dominican Republic Oscar de la Renta learned his skills from a Spanish designer Christoban Balenciaga before launching his own label in New York. Since then, he has become the designer of the red carpet gowns for many celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn, Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker and he authored the evening dresses for royalty and political personas, such as Princess Diana and Hillary Clinton. Just recently Oscar de la Renta designed the wedding dress for Amal Alamuddin, the current wife of George Clooney.
Now celebrities who worn the designer's dresses pay tribute on social media. Naomi Campbell called Oscar de la Rent "The Gentlement of Fasion" in her Instagram post:
